Our Origins

Do you know what it feels like to be constantly searching for something that feels missing, without knowing exactly what it is you seek?

Or endlessly trying on different lifestyles – as if they were jackets – looking for the one that fits? (And haven’t we ALL tried to squeeze into that black leather biker jacket that’s 3 sizes too small?)

Living a life that feels foreign is…well…unfortunately not foreign to so many of us.

But here’s the good news: after living your life feeling disconnected from your purpose, the feeling of connection (to yourself, your purpose, and your life) is nothing short of bliss.

We know, because we’ve been there. And that’s why we’re here.

Samadhi was founded by two people – Cheryl Robledo and Danielle Kutchuk- who have felt the pangs of disconnection firsthand (who hasn’t?), and have figured out how to use yoga, bodywork, nutrition, and several other ancient technologies and modern methodologies to gradually move through that painful disconnection. And we want to show you that it’s possible to not only move through your pain,  but to arrive in a place of meaningful, centered, joyful, authentic connection. A.k.a. Samadhi.

Now it’s our mission to share these tools and this journey with you.

Our Mission

When something truly amazing happens, we can’t help but tell everyone we know about it. So when we found our connection to our purpose, we wanted to shout it from the mountain tops. This studio is our practical way of shouting it from the mountain tops.

The first half of our mission is to show you that it’s absolutely possible to live a life that feels like your own; a life that feels purposeful; a life in which you feel connected to yourself, your purpose, and your community. The second half is to help you do it, and to create a supportive sanctuary for you to do it in.

Everyone has a unique way of finding this state of connection, so we’ve curated a colorful variety of classes, workshops, trainings, and experiences to help you dance with states of Samadhi. The ultimate goal of each of our offerings is to help you balance your body, mind, and heart. When these elements are balanced, they naturally align. When they align, you’ve found your connection.

To help you find this alignment, our offerings address equally the physical, mental, and emotional aspects of your being. We offer multiple forms of movement, massage, nutrition coaching, wellness coaching, energy healing, and plenty of wellness education opportunities (we’re all about ongoing expansion). We care about everyone having access to these tools for self-realization– our classes truly are for every body, and our ever-growing class list reflects that. Currently, we offer alignment-based Hatha yoga, gentle yoga, restorative yoga, Vinyasa flow, Shakti flow (an alignment-based flow with a dance-like twist to help you tap into your creativity), prenatal and postnatal yoga classes. Variations of poses, and personal assistance if needed, are offered in all classes to meet you exactly where you are today. Because wherever you are today is perfect.

The way we see it, our mission not only affects us and our local community, it ultimately affects the planet. Because when you’re living from a true sense of connection to your purpose, everything in your life shifts. And when a whole community is connected to their purpose, they start a ripple effect, and when that ripple effect gets going…well…that’s when the whole planet starts to shift.

Our Name

If you’re new to yoga terminology (don’t worry, we were new to it once too!) and are wondering what Samadhi means, here’s a simple definition that will clear it up:

Samadhi is the mind dissolved into the heart.

In yogic philosophy, Samadhi is the eighth and final limb of the 8-limb path to enlightenment, as outlined in Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras. It takes many forms, but above all, Samadhi is a state of oneness—the feeling of complete unity with the world around you, and with your highest self (call this Divinity, Love, God, Grace, Consciousness, or anything that feels good to you). It can mean complete transcendence, but it can also mean walking around in the world, going about your daily life, completely connected to higher consciousness while you’re waiting in line at the grocery store. That’s the beauty of it– it’s a state that’s equally divine and practical. Practical magic, if you will.

When you’re aligned physically, your mind is invited to melt into your heart…and that’s where the magic really starts. We’re all about giving you the tools, support, and guidance you need to spark this alchemy.

“Gruha” is Sanskrit for “home, or space in which to freely cultivate”. That’s exactly what we aim to create for you at the studio every day: a safe, warm, beautiful, and supportive space for the exploration of states of connection with your highest self.

A space for experiencing Samadhi.
